Ok, here comes the humblebrag. (Or maybe the ACTUAL brag...)

 

Hey, I'm a marketer - I gotta market myself first, right? 😉

*Clears throat dramatically*

 

Anyone can take a course on SEO writing or copywriting, write up a batch of samples, and build a side hustle. 

 

But how many people can teach themselves copywriting, SEO writing, SEO content strategy, AND sales copywriting, build a base of dozens of highly-satisfied freelance clients all across the world, and travel across Europe as a digital nomad at the same time? 

 

Only one that I know of, and you’re lookin’ at her.  👍

 

I started my first business at the age of 9, and by the time I got my first “real job” at 18, I had successfully and profitably run: 

 

• A pet-sitting service for small farms

• A bakery for special dietary needs (BEFORE gluten-free desserts were cool and glitzy)

• A B2B courier service

• A handmade jewelry and bath products business

 

I taught myself cold-calling, B2B and B2C sales, packaging design, door-to-door sales, and selling-from-stage techniques after school, and used the profits of my various ventures to achieve every little girl's dream: having her own horse. 

 

Fast-forward to me as a 20-something, now climbing the ladder in the corporate world.

 

After several years as a top-performing sales manager and then an increasingly restless AML Compliance Officer, I was eager for a new challenge.

 

I discovered the niche skill of digital marketing and sales copywriting for private equity real estate investment firms and quit a “safe, secure” job at Western Union to pursue it, along with commercial real estate investment, full-time. 

 

A few years later, I took my ever-expanding SEO content creation and copywriting skills on the road and moved to Europe to travel as a digital nomad.

 

Not content to stick with marketing just one niche industry, I freelanced my SEO writing and copywriting skills to the most unique, exclusive, hard-to-market products I could find: 

 

• CBD products for dogs from California? Yep, solved that little marketing regulation issue. 

• A German aviation-news brand? That's about as sexy as sauerkraut, but I made it work with some creative copywriting. ;)

• American-made organic skincare with hemp oil? Sure, no problem - where there’s a will, there’s a way. 

• A Swiss medical equipment manufacturer? Finicky industry requirements, but fascinating product. 

• An "Airbnb for bikers" travel website and blog? Ride on!

• Biodegradable sporks (yes, the little spoon-fork hybrids we Americans know from camping and chili cookoffs) with a teeny-tiny profit margin and an even smaller market niche? Hey, there’s a customer for EVERY product - all it takes is the right ad copy.

• A niche Canadian financial services company striving to serve professionals with down-on-their-luck credit? That was both heartwarming AND effective web copy.

• Ghostwriting a book about the real culture of modern North Korea as seen through a traveler’s pictures? Not technically a marketing challenge, but it sure was a fun project!

 

Now that I get to take my freelance marketing on the road across the world, every day is about love for me: a love of my work, a love of traveling, and a love of life. 🥰
